Yesterday, I sent this letter via email to Sens. Josh Hawley and Roy Blunt and Cong. Ann Wagner.
Dear Congresswoman Wagner,
The former President has now publicly called for the overthrow of the Constitution that established the governmental system under which you hold office. Despite his incitement of the Jan. 6, 2021 riot in which you and other members of Congress were endangered while in the performance of your duties and despite his ongoing lies regarding the validity of the 2020 and 2022 elections, you have not, to date, disavowed any association with or support for Mr. Trump. In light of his statement of last Saturday, will you now, publicly and without hesitation or recourse, withdraw any support for his candidacy as a Republican and reject the idea of his membership in the Republican party and will you introduce or co-sponsor legislation permanently barring him from holding public office under the Constitution?
If not, please specify your reasons for failing to do so and indicate why you should not be considered complicit in his rebellion against our Constitutional government. God be with you and God bless this country in our time of dire need.
This is Cong. Wagner’s response, also via email:
Dear Mr. Conant,
Thank you for contacting me regarding our United States Constitution. Knowing your thoughts and concerns helps me better represent the people of Missouri's 2nd District in Congress.
As your Member of Congress, I believe that the Constitution is the foundational basis of our republic and the backbone of my work in government. I swore a solemn oath to protect and defend our Constitution, and I will always abide by that oath.
Again, thank you for contacting me on this important issue. Hearing the views of all Missourians gives me the opportunity to better understand how important public policy items could impact the people of our state and the future interests of our nation. In that regard, your input is most helpful.
For additional information regarding current legislation and the 2nd Congressional District, I invite you to visit my website at

Sincerely,
Ann Wagner
Member of Congress
The Congresswoman voted against both impeachment actions by the House but did vote to certify the election results. If and when I get responses from either sitting Senator or Senator-elect Eric Schmitt, I’ll post those too.
