I emailed this letter to Congresswoman Ann Wagner (MO-02), a Republican who has served in Congress since 2013 and has faithfully and without question supported the current administration in all of its actions and policies. Since the congressional email system is insulated from follow-up there can be no interaction with Congresspeople or their staffers and my hope is that I’ll get an actual response instead of the canned pieces of self-promotion that we’ve all become far too accustomed to. There is some hope that Wagner will have a quality opponent in 2026 so that we can take advantage of the DNC focusing on this as a “battleground” and sending some additional financial resources.
“Please explain how this makes America somehow greater and preserves the rule of law. Perhaps you can then explain why you continue to support the actions and policies of the current President including his personal profiteering from his time in office. I'd appreciate an answer in writing that isn't a form letter from one of your staff. The citation is from the May 30 edition of The Morning Dispatch.
"President Donald Trump issued a total of 17 official pardons and eight commutations on Wednesday and Thursday, including to Lawrence Duran, who was serving a 50-year sentence for attempting to defraud Medicare of $205 million; former GOP Reps. Michael Grimm and John Rowland, convicted on charges including tax fraud and conspiracy to defraud the U.S., respectively; and reality television stars Todd and Julie Chrisley, who were convicted on charges including bank fraud and tax evasion. Trump also commuted several life sentences for Larry Hoover, a Chicago gang co-founder, though he will remain in prison to serve a 200-year state-issued sentence for the murder of a 19-year-old drug dealer in 1973."
Holding town hall meetings whenever Congress is on one of their too frequent recesses would enable more clear communication between you and your constituents. Please consider doing so.
Sincerely,

Excellent, short, to the point. Thanks, Dave.
Ignoring the work and expense of the trials to convict is a message 'no one will help you'. Instead, lawlessness of my brand.
