Right now, I'd settle for a little coarser grind and a more rapid turning. If the disgraced, defeated former president is, in fact, innocent of the crimes he appears to have committed, he deserves to have his day in court, providing sworn testimony to a jury of his peers as an American citizen and leave a free person with the record clear. If the failed insurrectionist, fraudster, and serial abuser of women is guilty then there is no reason to delay the speedy trial he is guaranteed by the Constitution and the American people and political system deserve to have this chancre removed permanently so that healing can begin.
The current reason for delay is a desire on the AG's part not to appear 'political' in his prosecution by bringing an indictment prior to the midterm election. However, since 1) Trump isn't on the ballot anywhere and 2) the MAGAts will scream their heads off about politicizing the DoJ anyway, why wait? Does anyone doubt that if one of us or even Heather had allegedly committed such acts that we'd be sitting in a jail cell awaiting trial?
There is no better example of the perversion of our legal system than the fact that Trump, Bannon and others of their clique are free to continue the spread of their slime while the legal eagles banter back and forth and time passes ever more quickly. Let's get this done and get back to the business of governing this country and standing as an example of freedom, the quest for equality and support for a civil world community. We can't do much of anything, although Mr. Biden is certainly trying his hardest, until our house and hands are clean of the filth of fascist authoritarianism.
Agreed. I would have had him cuffed as soon as they found the top secret documents at his home. What else do you need? He stole them. He had them. He admits he had them. It's ridiculous. On the other many charges that should be brought against this clown, I get how assembling an iron clad case would be critical. But talk about being "caught red handed"!!! The delay is unjustified on any basis. It is a ridiculous mockery of the law.
