Good luck with this guy, Dave. If I were a betting man, I'd say this monstrosity of a bill will indeed make it to the desk of Traitor Trump by Friday. They are playing with Mafia rules in this assembly of elitist toads.

Latest CBO projection is that the Senate version adds $3 trillion to the debt. I notice they don't use the word "conservative" much anymore.

I don't know if they can get it done in a week Bill. It's still got to get Senate approval and then go back to the House to reconcile the changes. If the Democrats got serious and didn't mind losing some holiday time they could easily delay it past the 4th. I have a hard time believing the report that the whole bill was read before the vote; 940 pages of silent reading would take me at least a couple of days doing nothing else and oral presentation normally takes longer than reading to oneself. Schumer really needs to get serious or get out of the way.

I wonder how Schumer feels about his legacy. He HAS served well and as far as I know, he is a truly decent and honorable man. He has raised a lot of money for the “cause”. Under normal circumstances, I would have said “I like his style”. But normal left us in the dust in 2016. IMO, Chuck should be beating a Republican like Tim Scott or John Thune with a cane. Figuratively, of course. Raise some cane and create a ruckus! Get wicked loud and publicly incensed! SCREAM!

Hard to say Bill, but we all pass our prime at some point and, while Schumer is a decent sort and has been a good foot soldier, what is needed now is an aggressive leader. Chamberlain was OK when war wasn't something anyone expected to happen, but Churchill was essential once the conflict got serious. What I don't see yet is who will turn out to be the Democrats ‘ Churchill.

Love the "contender for the fastest departure," Dave. In that vein, I wouldn't count on him to stand on any principles, other than self-survival.

I just read that CBO valued the Senate version almost $1T higher than the House version. Maybe that'll be enough to shake a few Republicans loose from pmurT's coattails.

How's it looking for the good guys in the primary?

Thanks Bob. Right now we don't even have candidates, and neither of our Senators are up this time. There's a shot at replacing Ann Wagner and I'm hopeful about that.
