The opposition should indeed be vocal via a shadow cabinet. We are just about to learn who will lead the DNC. I hope this person understands that we need to write a whole new script.
Agreed. Any of the three main candidates will be more qualified than any of Felon47's so that won't be bad, but your hope is appropriate because there needs to be some energy that isn't there right now among our elected officials.
Love the idea of a shadow cabinet, but who appoints it? The 450 (approximately) members of the DNC? Who is the shadow president? Kamala Harris (whom I should support enthusiastically), who just lost to Felon34?
The sense I got from Prof. Snyder's article was that the membership would come primarily from Congress in the same way that the British Shadow Cabinet is comprised of members of Parliament. Support would come from academia, think tanks, and other professionals in the various areas of concern for individual departments. It's an idea still clearly in development and it's not at all clear that there are serving Congresspeople interested in taking actual policy responsibility.
Theoretically, the Shadow President would be the leading candidate for the nomination in the next Presidential election and I'm not sure we've even got a leading candidate right now. I'd also support Ms. Harris, but she seems to be laying low, at least for the moment, so we're in the undesirable position of waiting for someone to assert themselves or grow into the position. AOC is the current media darling but she's too young and inexperienced to stand up to 4 years of the BS that would be directed toward whoever takes up the cudgels. Besides, I like her chances of being a Speaker to rival Pelosi in a few years.

New message, new media, new mouths.

Excellent points, Dave.
Thanks Manuel.

You make a great point here, Dave. I'm with you!
Thanks. We'll get through this better together, and the more, the merrier.
