Yes to the shadow cabinet. I called my senators (one of whom is Elizabeth Warren) yesterday to back the idea. But we can't tell the media which Democrat to call; we can only make it clear who will be prepared to answer the call knowledgeably. And, sadly, we can't prevent other Democrats from trying to steal the limelight. Will Rogers was right when he declared, "I belong to no organized political party. I am a Democrat." Still true.
Thanks Jon. While we can't prevent anyone from trying to steal the light, we (or the DNC acting on our behalf) can make it clear that campaign contributions will be directed toward those who work with the Cabinet team rather than independent operators. If Will was around today he'd be shocked at the new dimensions the Democrats have found in which to be disorganized.
Absolutely agree with a People's cabinet. And it makes perfect sense that the DNC lead the charge. If not, who or what? I am not sure Ken Martin has the chutzpah for this. But I was thrilled to see David Hogg become vice chair. It is time for younger people to drive the bus.
The future will be determined by who can be the loudest and most compelling on social media. That will come from someone of David's generation.
AOC, Jasmine Crockett, even Ilhan Omar looked pretty impressive when she spoke at the USAID demonstration. There is a growing bench that looks pretty good and Gerry Connolly's USAID appearance lends credence to the idea that AOC should have had the Ranking Member spot on Oversight.
Yes, also he's too old, and part of the goal is getting the next couple of generations involved and active. Also, Bernie has perfected the role of independent and we need that too. He's an outstanding gadfly and I'm a little surprised we haven't heard more from him in the past couple of weeks.

Thanks, Dave!
Excellent.
Thanks Manuel.
No Bernie? Is it because he's an Independent?
